Salman Akram Raja released after 4-hour detention; PTI faces ongoing pressure with more arrests.
Islamabad: (RightNow). Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja was detained by police for 4 hours and then released. Latif Satti and Ikhlaq Satti were also with him.
Salman Akram Raja stated that the purpose was to prevent him from attending the funeral of the late Ijaz Satti. He expressed regret over the violation of human rights and thanked his friends.
Barrister Gohar had earlier informed that Salman Akram Raja was held at the police station for 2 hours. He demanded his immediate release.
According to PTI, approximately 700 workers have been arrested in recent days. Arrest warrants have also been issued against assembly members.
It should be noted that Barrister Gohar has termed these actions illegal and demanded their immediate halt.
