Karachi: (RightNow) Pakistan People’s Party Vice President Senator Sherry Rehman has criticized India’s rejection of the Indus Waters Treaty, calling it incomprehensible. She stated that the treaty is crucial for cross-border water distribution.

In an interview with a foreign TV channel, Sherry Rehman emphasized that the Indus Waters Treaty provides a clear system for water distribution, information exchange, and dispute resolution.

According to her, the treaty does not include any clause for unilateral suspension or deactivation. Pakistan is reviewing legal avenues under the treaty.

She further stated that Pakistan seeks a peaceful resolution to the dispute, emphasizing that water should not become a new conflict. Pakistan is playing a role in regional stability.

It is noteworthy that Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey’s defense cooperation is not against any country but prioritizes mutual interests and regional cooperation.
