Punjab government proposes luxury apartments for officials at a cost of Rs 4.23 billion, to be built on Burki Road, Lahore.
Lahore: (RightNow) A proposal for luxury apartments for Punjab government officials has emerged. The Services and General Administration Department has presented a project costing Rs 4.23 billion.
This project is included in the development budget for the fiscal year 2026-27. The apartments will be built on 60 kanals of government land on Burki Road, Lahore Cantt.
Under the plan, 24 two-bedroom apartments will be constructed. The total cost of the apartment building is reported to exceed Rs 2.0536 billion.
The project includes a VIP gym, library, indoor games, seminar room, and convention hall. The cost of the convention hall is set at Rs 547.2 million.
It is noteworthy that the P&D technical wing has expressed reservations about the project’s cost. They have raised questions about the cost of imported materials and expensive facilities.
