Islamabad: (RightNow) The federal government has announced austerity measures to reduce expenses and save fuel. Under these measures, the fuel quota for government vehicles is cut by 50%, and markets will close at 9 PM.
The 50% fuel reduction is announced for three months, with exemptions for operational vehicles. A 5% cut is applied to the non-ERE budget, and a ban is placed on the purchase of government vehicles.
Foreign trips and travel activities are restricted, with exceptions for essential trips. Ministers and officials are instructed to travel in economy class.
Video conferencing is preferred for official meetings. Hosting of official dinners is banned, except for foreign delegations, and only one dish will be served at wedding events.
It is noteworthy that under the austerity measures, markets will close at 9 PM, wedding halls at 10 PM, and restaurants at 11 PM, with essential sectors exempted.
