Istanbul: (RightNow) Turkish police have arrested a man who evaded capture for 8 years by disguising himself as a woman. He used his sister’s identity card to avoid detection.

Authorities identified the man as Tugrul Bar, who was sentenced in 2018 for theft and impersonating government officials. After his sentencing, he went into hiding and altered his appearance to conceal his identity.

Tugrul Bar made significant changes to his appearance, complicating his identification. Investigators focused on his financial activities and movements, eventually leading to his capture.

Reports indicate that Tugrul used his sister’s identity card, keeping his true identity hidden. Unusual activity on his sister’s credit card alerted police to his real identity.

It is noteworthy that police confirmed his identity through fingerprints and transferred him to the Kadikoy police station, where legal proceedings are ongoing. Investigations into his use of his sister’s identity are also underway.
