Lahore: (RightNow) In the first eight months of this year, 16 children were allegedly murdered after abuse in 11 districts of Punjab. These incidents have been reported through police records.

According to police, Faisalabad reported the highest number with 3 children murdered after abuse. Bahawalpur, Khanewal, and Sargodha each reported 2 cases. Rahim Yar Khan, Muzaffargarh, Sheikhupura, and Gujranwala each reported one child murdered after abuse.

Police have arrested 20 suspects, but only 11 case files have been submitted to the courts. Investigations in 4 cases are still ongoing, according to police.

These incidents raise concerns about child safety in Punjab. There is also growing concern over the current performance of the police.

It is important to note that various laws and measures exist to prevent crimes against children, but effective implementation is necessary to prevent further incidents.
