Karachi: (RightNow) Karachi University Professor Arif Saqi was assaulted by armed individuals. Police have detained 3 suspects involved in the assault.

According to police, Professor Arif Saqi was traveling to the university in an online taxi. A double-cabin vehicle collided with the taxi, after which the occupants attacked the professor.

Police stated that the detained individuals are hotel employees, and the search for more suspects is ongoing.

The assaulted professor said he asked the attackers to compensate the poor taxi driver for the damage, which led to the assault.

It is noteworthy that a case has been registered regarding the assault on Professor Arif Saqi. The case includes charges of attempted murder and assault.
