Islamabad: (RightNow) The District and Sessions Court has extended journalist Bilal Ghauri’s physical remand by 2 days. Ghauri was presented in court after completing a 3-day physical remand.

The NCCIA requested an additional 6-day physical remand. Lawyer Imran Shafiq argued that recovery has been made, and further remand is unnecessary.

During the hearing, Lawyer Imran Shafiq questioned why further remand is needed when the mobile and laptop are already in custody. The investigating officer stated that double verification on accounts is causing login difficulties.

Bilal Ghauri told the court that his accounts and electronics are with the authorities, questioning what more is needed. After hearing all arguments, the court reserved its decision.

It is noteworthy that Bilal Ghauri was arrested for allegedly spreading misinformation on social media.
