Bishkek: (RightNow) Russian President Vladimir Putin expresses readiness to make the visa-free system with China permanent. He states that if China finds it beneficial, Russia is prepared to collaborate with Beijing.
President Putin made this statement during a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek. The two leaders discussed the benefits and cooperation of the visa-free system.
According to the Russian President, the visa-free system has increased tourism links between the two countries by 43%. This facility has significantly boosted tourist exchanges in the first half of this year.
President Putin stated that Moscow is ready to work with the Chinese side to make the visa-free system permanent. However, Beijing’s consent and finding it beneficial are necessary.
It is noteworthy that on December 1, 2025, Russia allowed Chinese citizens to enter Russia without a visa for up to 30 days. China introduced a similar facility for Russian citizens.
