Bishkek: (RightNow) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. During the summit, Pakistan will assume the chairmanship of the organization for one year.

According to a government statement, the Prime Minister will arrive in Bishkek on August 31 to represent Pakistan at the SCO Heads of State meeting. The summit will continue from August 31 to September 1.

Heads of member states and high-level representatives will participate in the SCO summit. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will address the summit, presenting Pakistan’s stance on regional peace, counter-terrorism cooperation, and economic ties.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also hold bilateral meetings with Kyrgyz leadership. His visit focuses on strengthening bilateral relations alongside attending the Bishkek summit.

Pakistan, during its SCO chairmanship, aims to highlight regional peace, economic cooperation, and practical collaboration among member states.
