Islamabad: (RightNow). Senator Shahadat Awan has called for a comprehensive investigation into the incident of newborns suffering burns at PIMS. He emphasized the need for effective measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

During a session of the upper house, Senator Awan expressed that conflicting reports have emerged regarding the causes of the incident. He stated that it would be inappropriate to hold any individual accountable before the inquiry is completed.

He mentioned that the investigation will examine the response time of fire brigade and rescue teams. The inspection will also cover emergency exits, fire safety systems, staff training, and emergency procedures.

Senator Awan highlighted that PIMS is a major national institution, and negligence in safety measures could affect not only human lives but also the country’s reputation.
