Dr. Muhammad Salman assumes charge as PIMS Executive Director after suspensions.
Islamabad: (RightNow) Following an investigative report, new appointments have been made at PIMS Hospital. Dr. Muhammad Salman has assumed the role of Executive Director.
According to the notification, Dr. Rana Imran Sikandar has been suspended for 120 days. Dr. Muhammad Salman is appointed as Executive Director for three years or until a permanent officer is available.
Joint Executive Director Non-Medical Chaudhry Waris Ali Raza and other officers have also been suspended. Dr. Altaf Hussain and others have been given additional charge.
Administrative changes at PIMS Hospital were made due to fire incidents. The Prime Minister was briefed that adequate measures were not taken to handle emergencies.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Muhammad Salman has previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute of Health. He has also been given additional charge of NIH along with PIMS.
