The investigation into the PIMS hospital fire that killed 14 is underway, with CCTV footage and staff statements being reviewed.
Islamabad: (RightNow) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s investigation committee has requested written statements from the nursery staff at the Children’s Hospital for the PIMS tragedy investigation. The committee has seized the nursery’s CCTV records and questioned the staff.
According to committee sources, the CCTV footage has been reviewed to determine the cause of the fire. The administration’s statements have been compared with the CCTV video. Further inquiries have been made with the PIMS health management staff.
The PIMS administration submitted the duty roster of the staff present on August 26. The fire brigade and emergency department have also submitted their reports. Four officers, including the Joint Executive Director of PIMS, have provided written statements to the committee.
The investigation committee is preparing to present an interim report to the Prime Minister within 48 hours. This report will cover the causes of the fire and the responsibilities of the relevant staff.
It is important to note that the fire at the PIMS hospital’s gynecology ward resulted in the death of 14 people, prompting this investigation.
