Islamabad: (RightNow) The federal government has announced a public holiday on August 26 for Eid Milad-un-Nabi. The Prime Minister approved the holiday in accordance with 12 Rabi’ al-Awwal 1448 Hijri.

The Cabinet Division issued a notification stating that government offices and institutions will remain closed on this day. This notification has been issued nationwide.

The Punjab government has also ordered special arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi. According to the spokesperson, water stalls will be set up along the procession routes across the province.

Major buildings in Punjab will be illuminated with green lights, and Milad gatherings will be held in public and private schools. A symposium on the life of the Prophet will also be organized.

It is noteworthy that sweets will be distributed to prisoners on this auspicious occasion. Instructions will be followed to ensure the best security arrangements.
