Islamabad: (RightNow). In anticipation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) potential long march on September 27, key highways connecting Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been closed. Traffic on motorways and GT Road has been halted since 11 PM.

According to motorway police, M1, M14, Hazara Motorway, and GT Road are closed until further notice. Containers have been used to seal the Red Zone from all sides.

To maintain law and order, over 22,000 security personnel have been deployed in Islamabad. Additional police forces have been requested from Punjab and Sindh.

These measures are taken to ensure the safety of citizens’ lives and property. Educational institutions are being used for housing security personnel, suspending educational activities.

It is noteworthy that PTI has announced a long march on September 27, prompting these security measures due to potential threats.
