Islamabad: (RightNow) New rules for Tosha Khana have been enforced, requiring gifts to be submitted within 30 days. Previous rules have been revoked.

Under the new regulations, the Cabinet Division has issued a notification mentioning open auction of all gifts. Gifts must be submitted within 30 days after returning from foreign trips. Gifts brought to Pakistan must be submitted within 60 days.

Failure to submit gifts will result in punitive action under the Tosha Khana Act. Complaints can be filed in a competent court for undisclosed gifts. Officials are advised to avoid accepting gifts.

These rules are crucial for ensuring transparency and legal protection of gifts. The market value of gifts will be determined by FBR and private assessment.

It is noteworthy that previous Tosha Khana rules were not as strict, leading to several controversies.
