Islamabad: (RightNow) The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency conducted a major crackdown on illegal call centers in Islamabad. Raids were carried out in sectors E-11 and G-10 over the past 24 hours.

According to the spokesperson, 212 individuals, including Chinese and Pakistani men and women, were detained during these raids. Authorities also seized 306 mobile phones, 383 computers, and other items.

Officials stated that the detained individuals were involved in international fraud, including Google fraud and low-dating schemes. Links to India and Brazil have also been uncovered.

These operations were conducted in response to the growing issues of cybercrime, which are causing financial losses both nationally and internationally.

It is noteworthy that this crackdown against cybercrime is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen cybersecurity in the country.
