Islamabad: (RightNow) Due to political parties’ protests and a long march, Islamabad has decided to close 24 public educational institutions starting tomorrow. This decision is made to accommodate police forces arriving from various provinces.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Jamaat-e-Islami, and Farmers’ Union have announced protests in Islamabad on different dates. Sources indicate that schools and colleges in several sectors of Islamabad will remain closed.

The Islamabad administration has taken control of 24 educational institutions for the accommodation of security forces. Teachers and students will not attend, but principals and non-teaching staff will be present as usual.

This decision is part of strict security measures. Over 22,000 personnel are expected to be deployed under the supervision of 8 Deputy Inspector Generals in Islamabad.

It is noteworthy that PTI has announced a nationwide protest on September 27 demanding the release of its founder Imran Khan. Jamaat-e-Islami will protest against the petroleum levy, while the Farmers’ Union will protest for relief.
