Islamabad: (RightNow) The National Assembly Secretariat has implemented further measures to reduce expenses. An official notification has been issued.

According to the notification, 50% of the National Assembly Secretariat employees will work from home, while the other 50% will work from the office. Employees working from home must be available via telephone, email, and WhatsApp.

Under austerity measures, fuel supply for government vehicles is reduced by 50%. A complete ban is imposed on purchasing new vehicles.

The budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 will see a 5% reduction. All durable goods purchases are banned, except for IT equipment.

It is important to note that National Assembly Secretariat meetings will be conducted via video conferencing. There is a complete ban on foreign trips and official travel expenses.
