New Delhi: (RightNow) Indian opener Abhishek Sharma set a new record by scoring the fastest century in T20 internationals. He completed his century in 30 balls against Afghan bowlers at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Abhishek Sharma scored 108 runs off 34 balls, including 11 sixes and 9 fours. His brilliant innings played a crucial role in India’s victory.
With this fastest century, Abhishek Sharma broke the records of Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza and New Zealand’s Finn Allen, who scored centuries in 33 balls.
However, Estonia’s Sahil Chauhan’s record of a 27-ball century, set in 2024 against Cyprus, remains intact.
It is noteworthy that due to Abhishek Sharma’s outstanding innings, India scored 221 runs and defeated Afghanistan by 94 runs, winning the series 3-0.
