Karachi: (RightNow) A final charge sheet has been submitted in the Malir Judicial Magistrate’s court regarding the 36-ton theft case at Pakistan Steel Mills. The charge sheet includes the names of eight accused, including a senior officer and security guards.

According to the charge sheet, police caught Abdul Waheed, Liaqat Khan, Zahid Khan, and Khalid red-handed with stolen goods in a dumper. Accused Nadeem Hussain attempted to protect the other suspects.

The prosecution stated that security personnel Nisar Ahmed and Sajjad Hussain were negligent and dishonest. Senior officer Chaudhry Muhammad Akram abused his position to pressure the complainant into withdrawing the FIR.

It is noteworthy that the name of suspect Tawab Khan was removed from the charge sheet due to insufficient evidence. The accused face charges of theft and criminal conduct.

Meanwhile, Director A&P Chaudhry Akram has filed a bail application in court to remain free during the trial.
