Islamabad: (RightNow) The Islamabad High Court has issued a stay order on the 2026 appointments of Community Welfare Attachés, preventing the final list from being prepared. The court has notified the Prime Minister, through the Secretary, Establishment Division, and the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, seeking a response.

The petition was filed by Raza Hassan, and Justice Ayaz Shaukat heard the case. Raza Hassan challenged the overseas appointment process and his exclusion from it. His lawyer argued that Raza Hassan had passed the written exam from IBA Karachi.

The lawyer contended in court that removing Raza Hassan from the interview stage was illegal and arbitrary, violating the amended policy guidelines. The authority excluded his name without notice.

The court has requested complete records of successful candidates and those called for interviews from the Prime Minister and other relevant parties. The next hearing is scheduled for September 24, 2026.

It is noteworthy that the interview committee meeting was held from August 17 to 20, 2026. The court has prohibited finalizing or notifying these recommendations.
