Islamabad: (RightNow) A new online fraud involving fake e-challan alerts has emerged in the federal capital. Islamabad Traffic Police has warned citizens to remain vigilant.

The Islamabad Traffic Police stated on social media platform X that fake SMS and WhatsApp messages regarding traffic violations are circulating. These messages include suspicious links.

According to police, clicking these links leads users to fake websites, risking theft of personal and banking information. Citizens are advised not to click on any unverified links.

Traffic Police has instructed citizens not to share personal and financial information with anyone and to verify all e-challan information only from official sources. Taking precautions can help keep oneself safe.

It is important to note that this is a new online fraud involving fake e-challan messages. Citizens are advised to report any suspicious messages immediately to Islamabad Police or FIA Cyber Crime Wing.
