Monsoon brings pleasant weather to Islamabad, but landslide risk looms in hilly areas.
Islamabad: (RightNow) The arrival of the eighth monsoon spell has brought pleasant weather to Islamabad. Sudden heavy rain was observed in Red Zone, Sector F-6, and G-6, while many sectors remained dry.
Under the eighth monsoon spell, rain is expected in most districts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa until September 5. PDMA forecasts rain in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Mandi Bahauddin.
Rain is predicted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, and Malakand. There is a risk of landslides in Murree, Galyat, and other hilly areas, along with potential flash flooding in rainwater channels.
Authorities advise the public to take precautions due to weather changes. Residents in affected areas are urged to stay informed about potential risks.
