Lahore: (RightNow) The Punjab government has formally approached the federal government to acquire 1 million tons of wheat to stabilize the market. Following approval from the Punjab cabinet, a letter has been sent to the Ministry of National Food Security.

Officials state that Punjab’s existing approval to purchase 200,000 tons of wheat remains, while an additional request for 800,000 tons has been made.

Punjab already has 200,000 tons of wheat with PASCO, and the supply of an additional 800,000 tons will bring the total to 1 million tons.

This move is crucial to stabilize wheat supply and prices in the market, ensuring the public does not face any difficulties.

It is noteworthy that the Punjab government has taken this step to stabilize wheat prices and prevent any shortage in the market.
