ICC fines India and West Indies for slow over rate in Chandigarh ODI, both captains accept penalties.
Chandigarh: (RightNow) Players from India and West Indies were fined for slow over rates in the third ODI held in New Chandigarh.
According to the ICC, the Indian team was 4 overs short, while West Indies were 2 overs behind. Consequently, India was fined 20% of their match fee and West Indies 10%.
Both team captains admitted their mistake and accepted the fines. West Indies were trailing 0-2 in the series before the third ODI but showcased an impressive performance in the final match.
It is noteworthy that West Indies chased down India’s target of 351 runs, winning by 5 wickets, marking their highest successful chase in ODIs.
Remember, both teams will now face each other in the T20 series, with the first match scheduled for tomorrow in Lucknow.
