Saudi Arabia’s air defense destroys Houthi drones and missiles; Yemen launches counterattacks.
Riyadh: (RightNow) Saudi Arabia’s air defense system has destroyed four Houthi drones and two ballistic missiles in the air. The Houthis attempted to target the Saudi cities of Khamis Mushait and Jazan.
The coalition forces reported that debris from the intercepted missile in Khamis Mushait caused financial damage, but no casualties occurred. In Jazan, two missiles and four drones were also shot down.
Yemeni government forces have conducted airstrikes on Houthi targets in Sanaa, Saada, and Taiz. A spokesperson stated that 27 airstrikes in Taiz destroyed military equipment.
The Houthis claim that Saudi attacks are illegal and have rejected Saudi allegations. Both sides continue to exchange accusations.
It is noteworthy that Saudi Arabia previously thwarted a Houthi drone attack on Mecca, which the Houthis denied. The Saudi coalition has assured measures to protect the holy sites.
