KP government rejects negotiation promises, raising concerns over security plan implementation.
Islamabad: (RightNow) Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi states that the KP government has rejected promises made during negotiations at the final stage. An agreement on a written contract and security plan preparation was reached.
Naqvi mentioned that there was an agreement to present a written contract and implementation plan within 72 hours. A review of the Police Act 2026 and cooperation in preventing terrorism was agreed upon.
He added that the KP government showed willingness to condemn TTP and other terrorist groups and agreed on policies regarding Afghan refugees. A commitment was made not to contact the interim Afghan government.
Naqvi stated that there was also agreement on implementing counter-terrorism measures and enhancing cooperation with the armed forces. Important decisions were to be made in FATA and merged districts, but promises were not fulfilled.
It is noteworthy that agreements were to be made for implementing the National Action Plan and improving security. Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that the province is in a state of war and security should not be politicized.
