Singapore: (RightNow) A 30-year-old man in Singapore is accused of spreading a fake AI-generated crocodile image. The image circulated around Pandan Reservoir, prompting authorities to launch a search operation.

Authorities temporarily suspended water activities and charged the man, Yelan, with two offenses in court. These include transmitting false information and obstructing justice.

Yelan stated in court that he intends to plead guilty. Police have warned that strict legal action will be taken against false information.

This case is significant as false information causes public panic and wastes government resources.

It is noteworthy that Yelan faces a maximum sentence of three years in prison and a fine. He is scheduled to appear in court again on November 10.
