Speaking to journalists upon returning from France, the Pope said that the risks highlighted by AI experts should not be ignored. According to him, it is essential to focus on the potential impacts of technology.
Pope Leo emphasized that AI development should not be harmful to humanity. He stressed that the benefits of technology should reach humanity.
He further added that dialogue, research, and studies must be promoted to ensure AI does not lead to humanity’s destruction.
It is noteworthy that Pope Leo’s statement came after U.S. President Donald Trump dismissed AI risks as a hoax.
