Afghan Taliban express willingness to continue talks with Pakistan, with Saudi Arabia potentially mediating.
Kabul: (RightNow) Afghan Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid states the desire to continue talks and cooperation with Pakistan. In an interview with Al Arabiya, he expressed hope that Saudi Arabia will play a key role in resolving issues between the two countries.
Zabihullah Mujahid further mentioned that Afghanistan welcomes efforts from all countries, including Saudi Arabia. According to him, Saudi Arabia could be instrumental in resolving disputes between the nations.
This statement comes amid a severe security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Recently, a suicide attack in Kohat resulted in 23 deaths and over 100 injuries. Pakistan has labeled militant bases in Afghanistan as a threat, while the Afghan Taliban deny these allegations.
Zabihullah Mujahid added that the Afghan people hold love and respect for Saudi Arabia. He hopes Saudi officials will assist in resolving issues between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
It is noteworthy that Pakistan demands Afghan soil not be used against it. China, Qatar, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia have made efforts to reduce tensions between the two countries.
