Islamabad: (RightNow) The government has increased petrol and diesel prices. High-speed diesel is now Rs 6.41 more expensive, and petrol is Rs 4.10 per liter costlier.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Energy, the new price for petrol is set at Rs 384.34 and diesel at Rs 415.83 per liter. OGRA has announced the new prices.

The government claims that the rise in petroleum product prices is due to increased crude oil prices in the global market. Brent crude oil has reached $108.8 per barrel.

It is important to note that the government has decided to provide relief to specific groups under the Prime Minister’s Special Fuel Relief Scheme. This scheme aims to reduce the burden on low-income individuals.

Remember, the increase in global crude oil prices is due to tensions in the Middle East and supply route issues.
