Islamabad: (RightNow) Chairman of the All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association, Humayun Khan, expressed concern over the lack of awareness regarding the government’s relief package on petrol. He stated that they are unaware of the Rs 100 per liter subsidy package.

Humayun Khan mentioned that due to the Rs 100 subsidy, conflicts may arise between customers and petrol pump owners. Despite the subsidy announcement, the reimbursement process remains unclear.

General Secretary of the Pump Owners Association, Nauman Butt, stated that while the government announced the subsidy, it has not clarified how petrol pump owners will receive the funds. This issue has not been addressed.

It is important to note that the government has announced a Rs 100 per liter fuel subsidy for motorcycles and vehicles up to 800cc. This subsidy has already commenced in Islamabad.

Additionally, petrol prices have increased by Rs 4.42 and diesel prices by Rs 6.10 per liter. These new prices are effective from September 16.
