Karachi: (RightNow) Vaccination for polio, meningitis, yellow fever, and influenza is mandatory for Umrah pilgrims departing from Karachi Airport. Dr. Syed Murtaza Shah Bukhari states that travel without a NADRA vaccination certificate will not be possible after September 14.

According to the Federal Airport Health Department, the Federal Government Civil Dispensary is the only authorized center for vaccinations for pilgrims departing from Karachi Airport. After specific countries’ pilgrims, vaccination will also be mandatory for Hajj pilgrims.

Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport 6 hours before their flight. Vaccination and online registration will be conducted at international departures. This restriction will later apply to Peshawar, Islamabad, and Lahore as well.

It is important to note that yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for passengers arriving from Africa and Central and South America. This vaccination is also required for passengers with a 10-hour transit.

Dr. Murtaza stated that all airlines and travel agents have been issued awareness notices. They will not issue boarding passes to passengers without vaccination certificates.
