A family in Lahore protests over Muhammad Zain’s death in a traffic accident, accusing police and a traffic warden of negligence.
Lahore: (RightNow) In Shadman, a traffic accident led to the death of young Muhammad Zain, sparking protests from his family. They accuse the police and a traffic warden of serious negligence. Zain, an electrician recently engaged, was mourned by his mother who demanded justice.
Following Zain’s death, his mother stated they were pressured to declare the accident as Zain’s fault in writing before his body would be released.
The family submitted a request to the DIG Operations Lahore, alleging the warden pushed Zain into the road, causing him to crash into the pavement with his motorcycle.
According to the request, Zain was taken to the hospital in critical condition but did not survive despite surgery. The family claims the warden filed a case to protect himself.
It is noteworthy that the family has demanded the return of Zain’s belongings and called for a transparent investigation and action against the responsible officer. The CTO has ordered an inquiry by the SSP Saddar Zone.
