Islamabad ranks 83rd in Global Safety Index, surpassing major cities. Police achieve 100% arrest rate in murder cases.

Islamabad: (RightNow) The federal capital Islamabad has secured the 83rd position in the Global Safety Index among 401 cities. Islamabad has surpassed major cities like London, Moscow, Toronto, Glasgow, and Istanbul.

According to Islamabad Police, this year all murder suspects were arrested, achieving a 100% investigation and arrest rate. Key cases include the murder case of Group Captain Asim Tariq among others.

Police report a 27% decrease in property crimes this year. Compared to 2025, 1,499 fewer incidents were recorded. There was also a decline in robbery, mugging, and vehicle theft.

Special units have been established for counter-terrorism. These units provide immediate assistance in high-risk situations. To further strengthen security, the Margalla Trail Patrol Unit has been set up.

It is noteworthy that Islamabad Police have arrested 1,144 suspects in anti-drug operations. An online women’s police station has also been launched for citizen convenience.
