Lahore: (RightNow) PDMA issues alert for the eighth spell of monsoon rains. Rain is expected in several districts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from today until September 5.

Rain with thunderstorms is likely in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Rawalpindi. Faisalabad, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Mandi Bahauddin are also expected to receive rain.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, and Malakand. There is a risk of landslides in Murree, Galyat, and other hilly areas.

PDMA has instructed institutions to take necessary measures to handle emergencies. There is also a risk of flash flooding in rainwater channels.

It is noteworthy that during previous monsoon spells, these areas experienced heavy rains, disrupting daily life.
