Peshawar: (RightNow) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government decides to outsource 32 more public hospitals to the private sector. This move is due to the poor performance of these hospitals.

According to officials, the hospitals include 21 Category D, 5 Rural Health Centers, and 6 Category B hospitals. The financial status of these hospitals will be assessed before private management takes over.

Additionally, the availability of specialist doctors and emergency services will be mandatory in these hospitals. The government has also taken necessary steps to improve performance through agreements with private entities.

The aim of this initiative is to enhance hospital performance and provide better healthcare services to the public. Officials state that the government budget will be provided to private partners on a quarterly basis.

It is noteworthy that after this outsourcing, the number of public hospitals under private management in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will reach 50. This step is considered significant for improving the healthcare sector.
