Islamabad: (RightNow) On the Prime Minister’s directive, the National Disaster Management Authority held an Emergency Response Committee meeting. The session reviewed the monsoon situation and water flow in rivers and dams.

Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal chaired the meeting via video link. Federal ministers, NDMA Chairman, PDMA, and meteorological department representatives attended.

The meeting assessed monsoon forecasts, preparations, and response measures. Provincial officials briefed on rescue resources, emergency reserves, and evacuation plans.

The focus was on timely warnings, availability of relief resources, and uninterrupted communication systems. All response agencies were instructed to ensure full readiness.

It is noteworthy that in the past, monsoons have caused severe damage in several areas. Timely actions are crucial in such situations.
