Lahore: (RightNow) The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert for the fifth spell of monsoon rains. This spell will last from August 12 to 15, affecting most districts in the province.

According to the announcement, thunderstorms and rain are expected in Murree, Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, and Gujranwala. The intensity of the rains will increase from tonight until August 15.

The spokesperson stated that heavy rain is forecasted in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and the Pothohar region from the night of August 13. Rain is also expected in Sargodha, Faisalabad, and Jhang.

Districts like Noorpur Thal, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, and Bahawalpur may experience thunderstorms and rain. There is a risk of urban flooding in Lahore, Gujranwala, and Multan.

It is important to note that there is also a risk of landslides in Murree, Galyat, and other hilly areas. The Chief Minister of Punjab has instructed district administrations to remain alert.
