Islamabad: (RightNow) An AI-based translator ‘SILA’ has been introduced in Pakistan for the hearing impaired. Its aim is to provide timely information in emergencies to save lives.

The British High Commissioner stated that the UK has collaborated on the ‘Sono Tech’ project. This initiative offers a warning system for citizens, including those with hearing impairments.

The system is developed by the technology company ConnectHear, with support from GSMA Pakistan and Ufone.

A British representative demonstrated the use of the AI translator ‘SILA’ for hearing-impaired students in Deva. Students learned how to use this technology.

It is noteworthy that the project’s goal is to provide timely information to the hearing impaired during emergencies and natural disasters.
