Ishaq Dar and Abbas Araghchi meet in Bishkek to discuss regional peace efforts and emphasize the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
Bishkek: (RightNow) Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting. They discussed bilateral relations and regional situations.
The Foreign Office spokesperson stated that Ishaq Dar emphasized the importance of dialogue for regional peace. He mentioned that sincere implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding is the only way forward.
The foreign ministers of Pakistan and Iran agreed to maintain continuous contact. The meeting highlighted the importance of strengthening relations between the two countries.
It is important to note that the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, established in June, provided a framework to end American and Israeli attacks on Iran. This was a result of mediation efforts by Pakistan and other countries.
Remember, in April, Pakistan played a crucial role in facilitating a ceasefire between the US and Iran. However, intermittent attacks have affected the prospects of a peace agreement.
