Islamabad: (RightNow) Flour prices have surged across Pakistan, recording further increases. Over the past week, the price of a 20 kg flour bag has risen by up to 100 rupees in various cities.

According to the Bureau of Statistics, the average price of a 20 kg flour bag in Islamabad is the highest at 3,133 rupees and 33 paisas. In Rawalpindi, the price has reached 3,093 rupees and 33 paisas.

The report states that in Khuzdar, the price of a 20 kg flour bag increased by 100 rupees, in Bahawalpur by 60 rupees, and in Hyderabad by 40 rupees. Larkana and Quetta saw a 20 rupees increase.

The rise in flour prices has further strained household budgets, particularly affecting the poor and middle class. The public has appealed to the government to control the prices.

It is important to note that the trend of rising flour prices has been ongoing for several months, causing concern among the public.
