Beijing: (RightNow) China announces the largest vehicle recall in its history. A total of 4.3 million cars, including those from Tesla, will be recalled. There is a risk of difficulty in opening doors during accidents, potentially trapping passengers.

According to China’s State Administration for Market Regulation, 2.98 million Tesla vehicles are included. These include Model 3, Model Y, Model X, and Model S.

Authorities state that in severe accidents, the electrical system may fail, complicating the use of emergency door releases. Tesla will address the issue with software updates and warning labels.

Chinese companies like Xiaomi, Leapmotor, Xpeng, and Geely are also part of this campaign. China announced in February that flush door handles will be banned from 2027.

It is noteworthy that the recall of 3 million Tesla vehicles is the largest recall for the American company in China.
