Islamabad: (RightNow). The government plans to double seafood exports by offering tax relief to exporters. This initiative aims to increase exports significantly.

Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Junaid Anwar Chaudhry stated that last fiscal year, seafood exports reached $563 million. He mentioned that exports will be further enhanced through value addition.

Junaid Anwar further said that an incentive package will be prepared and submitted to the FBR. He noted that under-invoicing will be eliminated, and dollar inflow will increase.

This plan is crucial for the economy as it will not only boost exports but also enable fishermen’s training. The seafood industry urgently needs value addition.

It is noteworthy that outdated fishing methods are harming marine life. The government is taking steps to artificially increase fish numbers.
