Islamabad: (RightNow) The Pakistan Mini Mazda Association has announced a nationwide transport strike starting August 8 against daily fluctuations in petroleum product prices.

Central President Tanveer Jutt stated that the government has been urged to meet demands before the strike. He claims this strike will impact the country’s imports and exports.

President of the All Pakistan Goods Transport Owners Association, Chaudhry Owais Gujar, criticized the lack of enforcement of axle load limit laws, leading to rampant bribery. He also condemned the lack of facilities in exchange for toll taxes.

Khalid Arain labeled government policies as harmful to transporters, noting that transporters in other countries receive facilities, unlike in Pakistan.

It is noteworthy that transporters had warned the government about a strike if their demands regarding petroleum prices were not met.
