Lahore: (RightNow) Two women arrested for theft and fraud died in police custody at Township Police Station. According to police, the deaths were due to drug overdose.

Police stated that multiple cases were registered against the women, who were drug addicts. They were arrested on an emergency call and taken to the hospital when their condition worsened.

DIG Operations Faisal Kamran reported that one woman fainted at Township and the other at Lytton Road Police Station. Both were transferred to the hospital, where they were declared dead.

The incident has heightened concerns about police conduct, with a case of misconduct also registered against an officer in Ghaziabad. Police officers have been suspended.

It is noteworthy that the women were accused of entering a house and stealing jewelry and cash. Local residents caught them and handed them over to the police.
