Ukrainian drones destroy two Russian warplanes at a military airfield, escalating tensions.
Moscow: (RightNow) Ukrainian drones targeted the Khanskaya military airfield in Russia’s southern Adygea region. The attack destroyed Su-35 and Su-34 fighter jets and damaged the airbase’s ammunition depot.
Ukrainian officials state the operation was conducted 500 kilometers inside Russian territory. Both aircraft were used for Russian airstrikes in Ukraine.
Satellite images show damage at the airfield. Independent verification of the aircraft’s complete destruction is limited, but the Ukrainian Security Service has confirmed the basic details.
The strike occurs as Ukraine continues its campaign to target military bases with long-range drones.
It is noteworthy that Ukraine has increased drone attacks in Russia’s interior regions in recent months, escalating tensions.
