Rawalpindi: (RightNow) The Corps Commanders Conference emphasized addressing any attempts to disrupt Pakistan’s internal stability decisively. Chaired by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the meeting resolved to take swift and decisive action against situations like those on May 9.
Participants acknowledged Pakistan’s right to defend against terrorism from Afghanistan. According to ISPR, ongoing intelligence-based operations against terrorism were praised. The military commended the successes of law enforcement agencies.
The need for governance measures to eliminate terrorism was highlighted. Effective communication with the public and improving police performance were emphasized. Joint efforts to dismantle the crime-terror nexus were deemed essential.
It is noted that the conference welcomed the defense agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. The condemnation of Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia and the reaffirmation of commitment to protect the holy sites were expressed.
It is recalled that Asim Munir has directed the strengthening of intelligence-based operations. He emphasized enhancing defense capabilities and acquiring modern technology. The commitment of the armed forces to national security readiness was reiterated.
