Maryam Nawaz rejects terrorism classification, urging focus on Pakistan’s new identity.
Lahore: (RightNow) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz states that terrorists, regardless of origin, remain terrorists without classification. She addressed participants of a leadership course.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that Pakistan has effectively responded to India in conflict. The armed forces are combating terrorism, showcasing Pakistan’s new identity globally.
She added that internal security remains at risk until domestic systems are corrected. She also highlighted the performance of provincial governments.
Maryam Nawaz mentioned that powers have been transferred to provinces, but unfortunately, provinces act as separate entities. Terrorism is under control in Punjab, with a 70% reduction in crime rates.
It is noteworthy that during her tenure, Maryam Nawaz initiated various development projects in Punjab and encouraged women’s empowerment. The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and other security agencies have been strengthened.
